Posted pics

I ended up not quite posting 50 pictures, it turned out to be 45 or so. But I selected the best ones. I think I shot something like 70 or 80 pictures. Anyway, that will be all for a while. I really have to start studying hard. I have finals in 2 weeks.

That empty syringe to the side is to let her tummy vent gas that builds up. You have to remember that this C-Pap thing is blowing air down her throat no matter where it goes, it gives her a lot of gas. Hence the syringe.

I know that this thing gives her life, but I hate it so much. I mean, would you like having to put one of these on your kid? It does not look comfortable.

It is funny that all the pictures of anyone holding her are of me holding her. Angel actually holds her much more than I do, but she doesn't have anyone to take a picture.

She did great this time.

Savannah in her "baby-gladiator" gear. This is the C-Pap in all its splendor.

Me and cuteypie. Do I look terrified? Every other time I do this, her sats drop. Here she did fine, though.

Don't go!

Mmmmm. Oxygen.

Wow. Big eyes.

So I hurried and my camera almost locked up.

The nurse let me take these before she shut it.

Here she is mouthing "Noooooo!" as they put her back into her incubator.

Doesn't her hair look red to you? I think it is.

She looks mad here. "I'm gonna get you for giving me a bath!"

Another pic of her shirt. It swallows her. Look at the sleeves.

Giving her some oxygen.

She has so many little outfits now!

I am not sure she really enjoys her bath

Angel finally put this shirt on top of her because her little lip was trembling because she was so cold from the bath. Poor kid.

Her hair is kinda red, isn't it?

I took this one upside-down and rotated it.

looking around...

here too.

She is so wide-eyed here.

No way! Enough!

Stop the madness!

Enough! Get away!

Angel says she likes her bath, but I'm not so sure.

We put that blue tube by her nose to help her breathe. I walked by it while it was propped up on the incubator, and it blew oxygen right into my nose. Made me a little light-headed.

posting tonight

I'm posting about 50 pictures tonight. I would have posted last night, but by the time I got out of class and went to see Savannah, it was like 10:30. So I'll do it tonight.

She's Savannah's "Sista from anotha Mista"

I have nothing to post, because I don't have time to post anything, and because I don't have any new pictures. I have been seeing Savannah in 30-minute spurts, here and there, because I'm really trying to hit the books hard before finals hits me harder. So, to you Savannah-addicts out there, sorry about that. I'll try to post some new pics on Thursday night. Deal?
But if you insist on getting pictures of a baby in the NICU, then click on the link on my side bar. Shoshanna is sort of in the same boat as Savannah. AND they both have names that don't suggest any easy nickname, AND start with S's. Practically sisters! What are the chances, eh?

one step forward, two steps back

OK; its not really true to say that this is a step back, or so the nurses tell us. Basically they told us that her lungs were still underdeveloped, and that she was breathing really shallow on the cannula (the nose tube thingy) so they put her back on the C-Pap, that mask contraption that is hooked up to her nose. She is fine; she just needed to take deeper breathes. They also found a bunch of fluid in her lungs, and they are getting rid of this through a drug called lasiks that is a diuretic, which makes Savannah pee a lot to get rid of the fluid. Anyway, we don't like it, Savannah doesn't like it, and we hope she isn't on it for long. They tell us that she probably will be on it for maybe a couple of days at the most right now. We can only just wait and see. Please pray for her lungs if you are reading this.

Sometimes she yanks her feeding tube out. It is her favorite game.

Still cute, though

35 ounces now. I think they are giving her a break and making it 31 or 32 for the weekend.

Mom's not loving it either
